Thanks to all involved in organizing the Research Symposium for the American Association of Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR) San Francisco Chapter, held Thursday, November 3 at our school. Students, residents, and postdocs from the Dugoni School, UCSF School of Dentistry and Stanford presented their research posters to attendees and judges.

Some good news about the Dugoni School’s alumni magazine Contact Point, which is receiving an award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for the issue “A Tribute to Dr. Arthur A. Special thanks to editor Kara Sanchez, the team members in Design and Photo and Marketing and Communications and the magazine’s editorial board for all of their contributions to the success of Contact Point.

Two recognition opportunities are being celebrated this week. National Radiologic Technology Week(November 6-12) celebrates the vital work of our medical imaging and radiology technicians in providing patient care and health care safety. National Allied Health Professions Week (November 6-12) honors the nearly seven million allied health professionals who make a significant impact on our health care system. These professionals comprise 60% of the health care workforce and include audiologists and speech-language pathologists; physical, occupational and respiratory therapists; physician assistants; medical clinical laboratory scientists; EMT and paramedics; imaging specialists; nutritionists and dietitians; and more!

Finally, a reminder about the Free Veteran’s Health Event taking place this Thursday, November 10 on our 2nd floor clinics, offering free dental check-ups, hearing screenings, COVID-19 vaccines, and more. Thank you to our volunteers who are organizing the event on the day before Veteran’s Day. A flyer is attached. Please share with any veterans you may know or share this event link with them.
