Each year our second-year students organize an “Over the Hump” party to celebrate the successful completion of the first half of our dental program. This year, the DDS and IDS classes of 2019 organized a “Stay Gold” themed event held at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco on Feb. 10. The celebration is open to all students, faculty and staff and featured a fun night of eating, dancing and awards.
During the event, a student is recognized with the Thomas R. Bales Family Endowment Good Samaritan Award. The award recognizes the student who demonstrates exemplary kindness to their fellow classmates throughout the first half of the program. This year’s winner was Emily Vu. Dr. Bales was on hand to present Emily with a plague and a check for $5,000.
Congratulations to Emily and to the Class of 2019 for making it over the hump!
