Second-Year Students Connect at Retreat

The DDS Class of 2020 recently gathered for the second-year retreat held at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio. Students spent the day learning about wellness, ergonomic health and risk reduction. Dr. Mark Booth, Group Practice Leader and Assistant Professor of Clinical Oral Healthcare, presented about professionalism and wellness, offering advice on how students have to be their best in order to provide the best care to their patients. Justin Jellin, an instructor of Diagnostic Sciences, who presented on health and risk reduction, suggested daily exercises that students could do before going to clinic to prevent injuries. Students also took part in team-building activities such as a kickball tournament. Congratulations to Group 2A for winning the tournament! It was a fun day of learning and collaboration as students had the chance to catch up with their fellow classmates in one of San Francisco’s most beautiful settings.
